1991 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet 964
This is a 964 Guards Red Cabriolet Carrera 4 that came with a manual transmission, with the front drive removed, making it a Carrera 2 conversion. Purchased from the owner of Patrick Motorsports (), James Patrick, with a clean AZ title. The car had a motor fire before James purchased it in 2011, it was then stored inside until it was bought as EV conversion donor in 2023. This car is a perfect canvas for a EV or outlaw build. OR, if could be taken back to a numbers-matching restoration as the motor and trans are still owned by Patrick Motorsports.
The fire damaged the non-metal parts of the motor, melted the wiring harness, rear suspension rubber and plastic parts, rear seat insulation and carpet, rear window, and some of the motor bay and under rear seat paint. The fire DID NOT damage or warp the metal, including the rear firewall, any of the motor bay, or the transmission and exterior paint. The motor, transmission, front drive system (making this a Carrera 2 conversion), fuel and oil systems were removed by Patrick Motorsports for rebuild and re-use, but could be paired back with this car if the new owner is interested. Also of note, the dash and door panels are in great shape, the front frunk has little wear, and all of the glass is perfect and the gaskets are good. The paint is not perfect, it has chips that need touch-ups, but it can be brought back.
The car also includes new Cup 1 replica wheels from Maxlite, with 7.5x17s (-us.maxilite-wheels.com/Cup-Style-75×17) in the front, and 9x17s in the rear (-us.maxilite-wheels.com/Cup-Style-9×17) – these are shod in brand new Michelin Pilot Sport 4s 225/45 R17s and 245/40 R17s (-pilot-sport-4-s). Since purchase the car has had the AC prepared for an electric compressor conversion with a condenser replacement (_Info/3.htm?pn=993-573-011-03-M6), and blower suitcase rebuild with a new evaporator (_Info/0.htm?pn=964-573-901-00-M6) installed.
