The RS America (“Renn Sport” or “Race Sport” in English) was produced from 1993 to 1994 in response to the demand in the U.S. for limited production, faster, and lighter version of the 964-based 911 from Porsche.
These cars numbered only 701 units produced from January 1992 through August of 1993 – 617 units for MY 1993 and 84 for MY 1994.
RS’s were very special in design and included: lightweight door panels, no rear seats, no power steering, no power mirrors, lightweight carpeting, lightweight jack, rear 911 Turbo tail, no A/C, no sunroof, no radio, and 17” Cup rims.
The 1994 units added the original 964 rear seats in response to the U.S. outcry for more passenger space… unfortunately to the tune of 60 additional pounds over the 1993 units.
RS Americas offered only 4 available options to buyers: Limited slip, A/C, an electric sunroof, and a radio.
They came in only 5 production colors: White, Red, Midnight Blue, Black, and at extra cost, Silver.
This stunning 1994 RS America is 100% original with just over 17,000 original miles and was equipped with sunroof, limited slip, A/C, and radio from the factory.
It is one of the finest RS units we have ever driven and a perfect addition to any collection in the world.
In addition, being a 1994 and one of only 84 ever produced, it is the rarest of an already rare breed of Porsche cars.
